The LID Center has been part of Prince George’s County Treating & Teaching program since 2016, bringing hands-on stormwater education to local schools. The program, currently managed by the Clean Water Partnership, creates outdoor learning spaces where students can take on real-world green infrastructure projects to improve water quality.

The Treating & Teaching program builds lasting community connections and environmental stewardship. Students learn practical landscaping, water quality, and stormwater management skills that deepens their engagement with their school, community, and ecosystem. Schools gain functional and educational green spaces designed in collaboration with expert partners, including the LID Center, Neighborhood Design Center, and Bradley Site Design.
